Profound! Thank you for this clear and entertaining explanation. You two are so engaging. This is one of those issues in scripture I've never fully understood. The demons tremble because they understand exactly who Jesus is, but they have no love for him. They tremble only because of his power. But Abraham's faith and James both tell us that we "put flesh in the game" and trust this Lord's aim of restoring life to the fullest, and to participate in his salvation, even in the face of sacrificing something dear and precious to us. This faith is transformative because we believe him, and he tells us where we are going with him, and we love him for it. We choose to follow and keep following him because he has initiated his love for us and for the world. His greater good for the Jews, for us who believe, and for the aim of winning others to him is something we respond to day after day. So clear now! Thank you!
